Better When We Color Together

I think this month calls for a little lightening up so let’s color all about it. We haven’t had a coloring party in ages and I’m itching to do one. And these are times we should unite under a common good – cheeky coloring books! We will, of course, have some books on the tame side for those who don’t want to color curse words and the like.

This is, of course, an adults-only coloring party. Snacks and supplies are provided. We will be meeting in Conference Room 2 at Yeager Office Suites of Plano, where the studio is located, and given the room (Yeager is always busy!) space is limited this time to about 15 people. Book early! Sign up for your spot here:

Relocation Sale & Coloring Party

Hey, this is Jenice. Art Is Life Studio is moving to Yeager Properties of Plano next month and I am having a sale and coloring party from 5-10 p.m. November 19 as a send off. Of course this is very bittersweet. The new co-working location has a lot of possibilities. But this location I have been in for almost 2 years has been a haven. I will still host and co-host events as well as pop-up art openings in this new space. I am really going to miss my Richardson location but see so much potential for the future at Yeager.

I will have art, some furniture and other items for sale. There will be plenty to color and we will have snacks. Please bring cash, if you can. I accept credit cards but will charge for the nominal fee I have to pay to use Square services. I really hope to see you, as this is a come-and-go event. If I tear up, I’m fine. I’m fine!

Donations and kind words for this move are accepted.

You may wonder WHY PLANO? Well some folks were wondering WHY RICHARDSON, too. We live in North Garland, which isn’t far from either location and easily accessed for us. Contrary to what some may believe, I’ve had a lot of support from Plano-area folks and the Plano Chamber of Commerce has been a great part of that. I do recognize and appreciate the people from all over the Metroplex that have made the studio stay alive. There are art communities away from Dallas proper, even though we know Dallas is a huge, vibrant art city.

A Postively Irreverent Coloring Party

The Studio is acquiring a few coloring books that will leave you feeling relaxed and empowered with a twist. Come color the pages of “Cheer the F*ck Up: An Irreverently Positive Adult Coloring Book “ and “You are a Badass: A totally inappropriate self-affirming adult coloring book (Volume 2).”

Inspirational quotes, phrases and affirmations don’t always have to have a picture of a tree. They can also be cheeky. Let’s get through the hump of Wednesday with some freakin’ positivity! Light snacks will be served. No booze allowed because we keep a sober space at Art Is Life. See you soon!

Please sign up here so that I know who is actually coming. I always have food and want to know how much to get. Cost is only $15 and includes coloring interpretation. Thank you!

Coloring Retrograde Away

Mercury goes direct on September 22 so let’s color it out in style! Just bring yourselves and $15. All supplies are provided. And, OK, you may not believe that extra shenanigans happen when Mercury is in retrograde but that’s OK. Color anyway!

We have something for everyone -- sweary words and plenty of meditative designs, animals and don't be shy coloring in the good book of The Enchanted Forest by Johanna Basford! I have two copies. One for the studio and one personally for me that no one touches so you CAN'T worry about messing up! And only one at a time can color it so you feel all specialer and stuff. :)

Hope to see you all. Seating is limited to 25 voracious colorers.

Please note that Art Is Life Studio is a sober space. No booze. No drugs.

Hey! We have a sign now so you can't miss us but if you have trouble, we are on the opposite side of the building from Hope Speaks.

First Friday Coloring Craze

It's that time of the month again! Wait, not THAT time of the month. It's time to color and $15 gets you all the snacks, coloring supplies and pages from various coloring books that you need. I will also provide interpretation of your finished pages (for entertainment purposes only) which is included in the cost.

Some folks haven't colored in ages while many have been closet colorers for years! Personally, I TRY to color weekly because it is a great way to unwind and still feel a bit creative. According to popularity, coloring is clearly not just for kiddos anymore and is a cheap way to chill out with your friends in a stress-free activity.

Coloring is also pretty meditative and from the response from some of my coloring parties for well over a year now, it's so relaxing you might even be tempted to nap over your pages! We certainly have a few not-so-safe-for-work books for the mischievous colorer in you who also enjoys using colorful language. ;).

Hope to see you all! Seating is limited to 25 voracious colorers.
