Darkness Into Light

his is an open house, open mic event where our intention is to erase the stigma attached to mental illness. It is also open to those dealing with addictions or in recovery who may be feeling the same ignominy. Celebrate the brilliance, creative expression and artistic ability that can come out through the dark from 7-10 p.m. on May 13.

This is FREE event but love offerings are always appreciated and accepted. It takes a lot of heart to run these events and a bit of cash to make sure folks have snacks and plenty of coffee and tea!

We are also excited that the ever-talented emcee Violet O'Hara is hosting us once again and in the future. This is a continuation of our "Where There Is Darkness, Light" show in March. Removing the shame and stigma can only happen when we do it together.

TRIGGER WARNING: Because of the encouraged openness of this event, you should be prepared to hear stories that you may find uncomfortable. Please respect any courageous speakers who choose to share. There will be instances where we will clear the energy naturally if you are hyper-sensitive and/or empathic.

In 2014 alone:
One in five American adults experienced a mental health issue

One in 10 young people experienced a period of major depression

One in 25 Americans lived with a serious mental illness, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depression

Whether you work through this using your own paths to healing, medication, diet or meditation, mental health affects everyone and is handled differently, person to person.

If you are interested in participating or helping, please contact Jenice at or call 817-307-9384.

Please note: In keeping with the mission of the space as a safe place for recovery, no booze or drugs allowed.

LOCATION INFO: We have a sign now so you should be able to find up just fine. But if you end up over at Hope Speaks, head to the west side of the building. ;)
