Darkness Into Light

This is an open house, open mic event where our intention is to erase the stigma attached to mental illness. Celebrate the brilliance, creative expression and artistic ability that can come out through the dark from 7-10 p.m. on April 21.

We are also excited to announce that the ever-talented emcee Violet O'Hara will be hosting! This is a continuation of our "Where There Is Darkness, Light" show in March, which we hope will become a monthly event. Removing the shame and stigma can only happen when we do it together.

TRIGGER WARNING: Because of the encouraged openness of this event, you should be prepared to hear stories that you may find uncomfortable. Please respect any courageous speakers who choose to share. There will be instances where we will clear the energy naturally if you are hyper-sensitive and/or empathic.

In 2014 alone:
One in five American adults experienced a mental health issue

One in 10 young people experienced a period of major depression

One in 25 Americans lived with a serious mental illness, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depression

Whether you work through this using your own paths to healing, medication, diet or meditation, mental health affects everyone and is handled differently, person to person.

If you are interested in participating or helping, please contact Jenice at or call 817-307-9384.

This is a FREE event but love offerings are always appreciated and encouraged for operational costs. Snacks, water, coffee and tea will be provided.

Please note: In keeping with the mission of the space as a safe place for recovery, no booze or drugs allowed.

LOCATION INFO: The studio is at 1200 E. Collins Blvd. #106 in Richardson, TX, 75081. It is located on the State Farm side of the building, not Hope Speaks. You can either enter from the front doors or the west side entrance
