Written Journey to Healing

The writing process isn’t just about the black and white of technicalities, grammar and spelling. It’s not just about what you want to convey. Writing is a tool that helps you with what’s holding you back in many aspects of your life. The true basis of where to begin your story is finding what prevents you from telling it. Moreover, you may have trouble finding your voice and chalk it up to just writer’s block. Or even worse, you convince yourself you aren't a writer.

Often the issue isn't that you can't write -- it is that you need to unblock something, need to change preconceived notions of writing or get past the possible intimidating thought of trying to complete a written piece of work.
Writing can truly be a healing process and I work as your Personal Writing Coach to help you through it. Through my Written Journey to Healing process, I act as your tour guide as you become comfortable telling the story inside of you.

Registration fee is $50, which includes handouts, writing supplies and light refreshments. Preregistration is required and can be made here:

Seating is limited to 25.

About me:

For more than a decade I've worked for newspapers, small businesses and artists -- at times, all at once. I've had a varied career doing just about everything: writing, editing, photography, managing, social networking and public speaking. My years as a full-time journalist were a roller coaster I don't regret paying my admission to get on, strapping in and hanging on tight. And it allowed me to continue to grow my talents and be flexible.

I was born a writer. I grew up in Arlington, Texas, as an only child but quite precocious. I never knew a stranger and I guess that never changed which helps a lot in my career. My first gig out of college was as a city and county reporter in the small Nebraska town of North Platte but the majority of my reporting experience happened at The Dallas Morning News. Journalism helped grow my love, experience and skill as a photographer and I attribute my talents today in that art medium to those years. My current career as assistant director of marketing and communications at Native American Natural Foods gave me the opportunity to travel to places I'd never seen which increased my wanderlust.

In 2012 I decided to rent out my Dallas condo (which I've now sold) with plans to live places I've never lived. At one point, I took up residence for about nine months with my goofy cat Tiger Lily in a small cabin on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation where the company is headquartered. After a series of adventures, travel and fated moments, I am currently stationed back in Texas with my wonderful fiancé, David, and his two beautiful kiddos. I have a creative space in Richardson, TX, called Art Is Life Studio which is an alcohol-free environment where creatives can show their artwork, rent workshop space and where I also provide photography, marketing, and meditative services.

I always look to inspire people to be their best in business, spirit and well-being. Whether you are looking to help market, build or boost your business or you want to be inspired in your creative fields, my vision is to work with you in positive partnership to accomplish your goals.
