Art Is Life Studio: One year down, more to go

If you are a Facebook user, you are probably more than aware of the "On This Day" feature that basically makes you take a trip down memory lane every day. Sometimes when you take this trip, you aren't exactly happy to see those places again. But sometimes it's just what you needed to revisit which, for me, was a status update from two years ago:

In the coming year or so, I plan to be working on something I’ve treasured for a while now, with a person who believes I can make it happen. No matter how ‘small’ it may be at the start.

Send good vibes please…
Who knows?
— Jenice's Facebook waxing poetic

Early in our relationship, I insisted that my husband David and I have a vision board that we put things we BOTH wanted for our lives -- for ourselves and each other. His for me was my studio. I make no illusions of what the future will bring but surviving the year was major for me. Every day it doesn't become any easier but still I am inspired and determined.

We threw an anniversary party earlier this month celebrating the year milestone.  The event also served as a debut for a few artists: Judy Hill, Rose Demoret and Martin Rosenberg.  Lorenzo Lopez, Kimberly Meadows and Keanna Pohl rounded out the show in addition to the new artists. All of their work is still up on the walls until March 7.

My favorite musicians Kelly Nygren and Zach Pohl performed amazingly as well as Alicia Archer who sang and played the ukulele in public for the first time!

And of course we had to color. Lots of coloring happened.

My heart was, and is, so full from all the beautiful people and the generosity, some even coming with thoughtful gifts. We raffled off some amazing stuff from my Jenice's Gummy World collection, photography sessions with Jenice Johnson Creative and services by Jennifer Walz, Licensed Acupuncturist and Certified Aromatherapist.

The whole evening was lovely and I am very thankful. I appreciate all of you who made this event special. Ironic, but per the usual, I didn't take nearly enough photos....
